My wife and I are spending some quality time with our long-time friends Larry and Paula Neff. We are staying in the apartment of Bob and Joy Martin while they have returned to the states to be with their family for a few days. Thanksgiving Day was a special event at the Lighthouse Children’s Home here even though the country does not recognize this special day as most Americans do. The Neffs and their staff always take time to remember our heritage and use the occasion to be a special blessing to the local missionaries as well as the children in the home. The day was marked with sweet fellowship and a delicious meal of turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, salad, corn, pumpkin pie, pecan pie and many other extras. The event was an occasion for some of the former residents of the home to come back for a “family gathering”. In all, more than sixty persons were fed with the holiday provisions. After the meal, I brought a devotion about yielding to the Lord as He molds us and fashions us in His likeness. We are truly thankful that we have had this occasion to spend a few days at the Lighthouse. Many lives have been, and are being changed for the Lord at the Lighthouse Children’s Home.
